Triumphant Bharat or Degenerated India.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The term India although have originated, from the river Indus, represents the colonial mindset of our founding fathers and there acceptance of every thing foreign, although at times it may have been used as derogatory remarks, and even as a contempt to represent our country.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s see how the English Dictionaries define the term Indian:

Ø a person who performs a required task or carries out the instructions of superiors

Ø a citizen of the Republic of India.

Ø a member of any of the peoples native to or inhabiting India or the East Indies.

Ø Also called American Indian, Amerind, Amerindian, Native American. a member of the aboriginal people of America or of any of the aboriginal North or South American stocks, usually excluding the Eskimos.

Note: For some, especially among North American Indians, the preferred designation is Native American

However, the acceptance of Native American has not brought about the demise of Indian, despite persistent criticism. Unlike Negro, which was quickly stigmatized once black became preferred, Indian never fell out of favor with a large segment of the American population.

Indian is an offensive term—hopelessly tainted by the ignorant or romantic stereotypes of popular American culture.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s see how the English Dictionaries define the term India (American Heritage Dictionary)

A country of southern Asia covering most of the Indian subcontinent. Aryans from the northwest invaded c. 1500 BC, pushing Dravidian and other peoples to the south. Most of India was unified by the emperor Asoka in the 3rd century BC. It experienced a golden age in the 4th and 5th centuries AD before being invaded c. 1000 by Muslims and later by the Mongol conqueror Baber, who established the Mogul empire (1526-1857). Various European powers established trading posts in the 16th and 17th centuries, with the British assuming authority over India in 1857. In the 20th century, India gained its independence from Great Britain (1947) following a campaign of civil disobedience led by the pacifist Mohandas Gandhi. Its concomitant partition into the separate countries of India and Pakistan resulted in a tumultuous migration of Muslims to Pakistan and Hindus and Sikhs to India in which approximately one million people died. New Delhi is the capital and Mumbai (Bombay) the largest city. Population: 1,100,000,000.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets see how our constitution defines our Country:

The first Article of the Constitution of India states that "India, that is Bharat, shall be a union of states." Thus, India and Bharat are equally official short names for the Republic of India.

The term Indian had degenerated as an acronym for an inferior defeated race. It has been consistently used for derogatory references through out the words with roots Indi (as in Indigent)/Indian.

Even the American Heritage dictionary when tries to define India tries to prove the postulate of Aryan – Dravidian Divide.

The irony is that, after getting independence, there was a clear lack of Imagination on part of our founding fathers, even at the verge of triumph they could not break the shambles of there colonial Mindset.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bharat who represents triumph, the first Chkravarty King who united us, who is there in the cosmic dance of Shiva as in Bharat-Natyam must have been the most appropriate name.

Let us pledge today, we shall break and remove all the filth of our colonial degenerate past. We will start by renaming our country to Bharat.

Jai Bharat.
